10/23 – Honoring the Plants – Part 1 of 2
During the past five weeks, I’ve found myself surrounded by some of Nature’s most brilliant colors and dramatic weather conditions. Having been here during the shift from Autumn into early Winter, I’ve been honored to have witnessed the delicate and beautiful transition of one season into the next. The brilliant explosion of leaf colors, the late Fall snowstorm announcing Winter’s approach, and the shedding of leaves on trees and bushes. All part of the Nature’s great cycle that I’ve had this great opportunity from the National Park Service to witness and to photograph.
I’ve spent most of today reviewing, appreciating and organizing over 60 images of plants, leaves and bushes. I know they represent only a small portion of the great beauty that Nature offers visitors here. But at the same time, I know that I’ve made the best attempt possible in the time I’ve had here capture as much of her beauty as possible in order to share it with others.
Like the animal images discussed several days ago, there are too many plant photos to show easily in one entry on this website. Instead, I’ve prepared Part One of an interactive slideshow containing 15 of those images. Once you begin the show you can either click on a specific photo to view it in a larger size, or easily navigate from one photo to the next. Within the next week, I complete and publish Part 2.
